Hungarian Grand Prix Betting

With no time to rest after last weekend’s controversial Ferrari 1-2 victory in Germany, Formula One moves onto Hungary. Who will take the chequered flag this weekend? BetRepublic.com previews the outright markets here.

Top Outright Race Winner Odds at Motor Sports Bet

Fernando Alonso – 15/8

Sebastian Vettel – 2/1

Mark Webber – 9/2

Lewis Hamilton - 6/1

Felipe Massa – 8/1

This weekend’s race at the Hungaroring, near Budapest, is the twelfth race of the 2010 Formula One season and after the events at Hockenheim last weekend Formula One will be looking for a clean and exciting race. However, the Hungaroring closely resembles the track at Monaco with its short straights, lots of turns and usually a massive lack of overtaking action. Will things be different this year?

Thursday’s Europa League Betting - FC MIKA Ashtarak vs FK Rabotnicki

This evening sees the second leg ties of the Second Qualifying Round for the 2010/2011 Europa League tournament. Who will progress to the third, and final, qualifying round? Soccer Betting Tip searches for some value bets here.

Breidablik v Motherwell:

At the halfway stage of the tie Motherwell hold the advantage after winning 1-0 last week in Scotland. Can they hold that advantage and progress as they travel to Iceland this Thursday evening? The 23/20 favourites to win the match in normal time, with Breidablik available at odds of 17/10 and the draw can be backed at 12/5.

The first game at Fir Park saw a competitive game with plenty of chances for both sides, however it was the more clinical professional side from the SPL that took the win through a 63rd minute goal. However, the Icelandic side had their share of chances and on another night they could come away with an away goal or two. Can they overturn the deficit and progress to their final qualifying round to face Aalesunds FK of Norway in their first appearance in European football?

Wednesday´s Champions League Betting

This evening sees the final eleven games from the second qualifying round of the Champions League. Who will progress to the final qualifying round? BetRepublic previews a selection of games here.

Rosenborg v Linfield Soccer Betting Tip :

After claiming a shock 0-0 draw last week, the Northern Irish champions are still in this tie and they travel to Norway with a chance of eliminating their more illustrious opponents. Can they do so though? Books don’t think so, making Rosenborg 1/12 favourites to win this match in normal time, with Linfield available at 16/1 and the draw at 13/2.

With odds that short the bookmakers clearly believe that this game is going to be a walk in the park for the 2009 Norwegian league champions. However, Rosenborg had won eight straight matches prior to the draw with Linfield last week and ended up drawing their second game in a row following last week’s fixture in Belfast.

At home Rosenborg are a tough proposition having won eight and drawn three of their last eleven games in a run that stretches back to April. They have also kept seven clean sheets in their last nine home matches, and with Linfield likely to play 4-5-1 again I feel that Rosenborg will win this game to nil as well, but they will have to work hard for it.

This Saturday sees the penultimate match at the 2010 World Cup as Uruguay and Germany battle it out in the third and fourth place playoff after losing their Semi Final games. Who will finish third? BetRepublic.com previews the action here.

Uruguay v Germany:

This is the game that no side wants to ever play in as they’ve lost their Semi Final and missed the chance to play in a World Cup final. Germany played in the 2006 3rd/4th place playoff, while Uruguay last reached the last four stage in 1970 – where they were beaten by West Germany 1-0 to finish fourth

It’s make or break time this Tuesday evening as Uruguay take on the Netherlands for a place in the World Cup final. Who will be the first finalists? Betrepubluc previews the match here.

Uruguay v Netherlands Soccer Betting Tip :

What a matchup we have for the first Semi Final at the 2010 World Cup. Available at odds of 80/1 and 14/1 respectively both of these sides, Uruguay especially, have performed better than most people could have predicted.

Who will reach the final though? The silky smooth Dutch? Or the tenacious Uruguayans with their never-say-die attitude?Netherlands the favourites to progress to the final within ninety minutes at odds of 4/6, with Uruguay available at 5/1 and the draw can be backed at 5/2. However, I feel that this game will be a lot tighter than the odds suggest.

World Cup Betting: Germany vs. Spain

World Cup Betting: Germany vs. Spain

The second World Cup Semi Final sees the dark horses of the tournament take on the pre-tournament favourites for the second spot in Sunday’s final. Who will progress? Germany or Spain? BetRepublic previews the game here.

Germany v Spain Soccer Betting Tip :

Spain came into the tournament as the favourites, but the 2008 European Champions haven’t really lived up to that billing, while no-one was expecting much from Germany in South Africa but they have breezed past England and Argentina in the knockout stages scoring eight goals make Spain the 8/5 favourites to win in normal time ahead of Germany at 9/5 and the draw at 11/5.The odds are close, but who will progress?

Both sides have lost one game in the 2010 finals, with Germany’s loss coming at the hands of Serbia in their second group game. That loss came after join top scorer, with four goals, Miroslav Klose was red carded in the first half and they conceded a goal just seconds later. They should have got back into the game but missed a succession of chances, including a penalty.

That goal was half of the goals that Germany have conceded in the tournament, with the only other goal coming in the game against England in the last sixteen stage. In comparison to conceding so few, the Germans are right on form up front and have scored thirteen goals, with twelve of them coming in three matches where they scored four goals. Australia, England and Argentina have all been swept away by the goal scoring abilities of this youthful German side, will Spain be able to hold them back?

If they are to do so, they will have to improve vastly as, while they have been winning games, they have not been totally convincing in doing so. They dominated all of their group matches, yet lost 1-0 to Switzerland, beat Honduras 2-0 and sneaked past a ten man Chile 2-1.

They should have won all games by more, but, apart from David Villa – who has scored five of the six goals that Spain have scored – they are not finding the net with the regularity that a side that plans on winning the World Cup should do. Only against Honduras and Chile have the Spanish found the net more than once in a game and they will need to score more than one to beat the Germans, but are they good enough to do it?

Against Argentina, Germany knew that they had to keep Lionel Messi quiet to give themselves a chance at progressing. They did this with style and progressed easily, and they will now attempt to do the same with David Villa in this game. Should they keep Villa quiet then they will win this game, as Spain are not firing on all cylinders in front of goal. They are need several chances to score, while it is very likely that a German player, especially Klose and Thomas Muller who have scored four times each, will find the net from that very same chance.

As a result of their work rate, defending ability and goal scoring prowess my money is on Germany to upset the odds in this game and I’ll be backing them to progress to the final within normal time @ 9/5. I also feel that there will be goals in this match, so I’m on over 2.5 goals at 6/5. Check out more top tips for this game at Soccer Betting Tip

BetRepublic Recommends:

Back Germany to beat Spain within 90 minutes @ 9/5

Back Over 2.5 goals in the match @ 6/5
